aimeovaldi: I have PM'ed you regarding the transformer that you ordered as I don't think that it will work for this amp.

The correct one would be an Edcor XPWR152. I hope that you can change the order for the correct one.

      Hope the same.

The one first suggested and ordered is basically a *Preamp* PT, will feed no realistic power amp.

Guess it's not too late since they have to be custom built and specified "6 weeks" .

You'll have to pay a little extra for it; $43.21 list price vs. $37.03 .

I have placed a call to Edcor regarding a change in the order, all lines were busy, I left a message and will continue to attempt contact. Hopefully they can amend the order, but if not, it was only 55.00. I still appreciate the help and that you responded to correct the info.

Edcor called me back, they have no problem changing the order, and it is only 7.12 more. They are great to work with. So all is good and I should have the transformer in about 6 weeks. I will keep all posted as I go. Thanks again.

I'm glad that you were able to get it straightened out and again I apologize for the error.

Because the filament winding lacks a center tap, you will need to add two 100 ohm, 1/2 watt resistors to the circuit to create a ground reference for the heater circuit.

Well I received the transformer and the amp is at the tech as I type. Hope all goes well and she is up and running soon.

                Cool, good luck.

Just curious, how long did it take Edcor to actually make and deliver the transformer?

It might be useful for others.

The total time was about 3 weeks from order to delivery. Pretty quick in my opinion.

                    Thanks.

It's always useful to be able to match "promises" to "reality" ...which in this case was excellent.

6 weeks promised vs. 3 weeks actual delivery time?
                    Way to go Edcor !!!!

Is the winding for the heaters on the original transformer actually 12.6 volts center-tapped?

According to the schematic it is 6.3 vac center tapped.
