After exhausting my supply of contact cleaner on my last 'repair' my friend bought me 3 cans of "contact cleaner with silicone" - I always used the "no silicone" stuff - any thoughts?

I wouldn't use it on potentiometers as it will dissolve the lubricant of the shaft.

Switches & jacks should be o/k.

Wow - Jazz P Bass, how did you know that is the exact brand that I use? MG Chemicals, a Canadian brand eh...
So I need both types then - no silicone for the pots?

I use Deoxit D5 for pots, jacks, sockets, connectors, etc.

For faders I use fader lube.

Deoxit is great, I have a tiny bit of it - it's more expensive than illeagal drugs...

I can get the MG stuff locally for $8 a can - but I'm confused when you say "I wouldn't use it on pots" - deconfuseme please...

A can of Deoxit spray lasts me a long time, and that is in a commercial shop.

You need not hose down the controls, just a tiny squirt is all you need.
