  • first diy build help

    could someone derect me to a sch# layout and partslist for a first time amp build. ive got all the parts or at least most. to start a build a small 3 tube champ ore something like it. id like to get started on a project

      That might be a bit too complicated for a first timer.

          i have a small pa from m-g from the 50s. its got 5y3 6l6 and a 6sc7 should i gut most of it and wire in the prinston. id replace the 6l for the 6v6 and put in a12at7 i have does that sond right. could i run the the same bias.

            I'd not really gut it but mod it so it is like a Princeton, but keep the octal socket preamp tube and use the 6SC7 or even better, rewire the preamp tube socket for a 6SL7GT. It's a simple move of a couple wires.
            If the amp was made for a SE 6L6, then I'd use that tube too.
            Look on ebay (or local) for an old 6L6 coke bottle tube for a real vintage sound with very simple rewiring of the chassis you have.
