I listened to all the clips, and the one that sounded the best to me was the 35. So if you use a 36 that would probably be as good as it gets. The higher values seemed to produce a little lower wider sound. I actually liked it also, but it would not be as focused in a band setting for lead work.David

Yeah, the higher value slope resistors shift the tone stack's center frequency down. You can still get the same sound as other values. But you just need to adjust the EQ a bit. But the top and bottom ranges of all the EQ controls are different, while they will all overlap a bit in the middle. The clips are all with the EQ at 12:00. So a 33K can sound the same as 47K, for the most part. Just need to really adjust the tone controls.
