I've got some tweed cloth that is going to dress an amplifier. How do I paint or glue it or whatever it's called? Anyone got suggestions or links maybe where I can read more about this?
There is another thread in this forum that I found useful for application of tweed. I'm not sure how to link to it but it's called "Tweed Application Questions" started by VictoryNVH on March 26, 2008.
I recently covered a cabinet with tweed using the tolex glue from Antique Electronic Supply. It was very easy to work with and did the job very well. There are no bad smells or fumes and it is somewhat forgiving (you can peel it back if you've positioned wrong if it isn't too far into the drying process yet). I painted it on the wood surfaces wth a brush and used a heater with a fan to speed up the drying to the tacky point at which you apply the material.

Just copy and paste the URL into your reply. Here it is http://music-electronics-forum.com/t6629/
The forum SW just displays the title vice the actual address when you post.

I've tolexed several times but never tweeded. I've been looking into applications and this one looked interesting to me. It's basically just strong ass double sided tape. Looks strong.
