New to the forum- first post:
Built a BFDR. Normally have used the star ground (which I have read the woes and various novels that some of you have discussed on other "noise" threads). Seems to me the fenders are finicky about grounding and location. Anyway, had some nasty noise in the verb curcuit (well it got louder as pot turned up). Ripped out my pretty ground buss
and went to the more "locational" leo suggested ground scheme. Fixed that issue, but the strangest thing is now going on:
Regarding the 2nd / Abnormal channel- sounds good at low volumes except for a slight upper end light buzz. Verb works, vibe works. However, at volumes above 5, the sound cuts out completely when treble is turned up. Sounds like an envelope filter right before it cuts out: "oohwhop"!! Everyone laugh ----thats your que for my misery!!
I built this to schematic except the normal channel which is now a lovely marshalesque voiced beast (works and sound great). Have good DVMs, don't have a scope.
Help me obi wan, thanks tuneboy
