  • Peavey Classic 50/212 Lead channel volume

    Hi,

I have a Peavey Classic 50/212. The lead channel is not as loud as it should be. I balance the clean and lead to be the same volume for clean and dirty rhythm. with Clean level on 5-6 and Lead channel with pre on 7 (for crunch) post on 10 - they are about the same volume. I've played another second hand Peavey classic in a shop which does not have this problem so there clearly appears to be a fault. Could it be a valve needs replacing?

    Many thanks.

Certainkly possible, get a fresh 12AX7 and substitute it in each socket one at a time.

        pre-amp Valve

        Hi Enzo,

Thanks it was one of the pre-amp valves. I'm about to replace them all and the power amp valves, about time I got around to it. Do you happen to know if the Classic 50/212 is fixed bias?

        Thanks again,
        Harry

It is fixed bias and it is not adjustable either.
