i have a carvin 2x10 wedge cab with a horn.....the horn was cutting out intermittently. i pulled the crossover and i think i've determined the relay (12A/24v version of this: http://www.nteinc.com/relay_web/pdf/R46.pdf ) is intermittent. i'm not sure its function, but i think it might be protecting the horn from voltage surges...? i don't have a schematic.
i've soldered a jumper wire across a couple of the relay lugs....everything seems to be working fine now...no intermittent horn operation. is it harmful to the amp to leave it like this? i'm hunting down a replacement tomorrow, but in the event i can't find one quickly, i'm wondering of there's a risk in just leaving the bad relay bypassed.
thanks for your help!
