  • Broken volume pot on Valvestate 8080

    Hi there,

I've managed to snap the volume pot shaft on my Valvestate 8080. The amp is quite old and well gigged. It's got crackly pots and the valve could do with a replacement. Ultimately I'm just looking to put it in a reasonable state in order to ebay it.

I don't really have much experience with amplifiers but my dad used to be an electronics teacher so I'm sure he can assist. And I'm not too bad with a soldering iron myself.

I just need to replace the volume pot but I cannot find what model pot to replace it with anywhere. Can anyone help?

While it's open I think a good clean of the other pots and probably replacement of the valve would be a good idea. Can anyone suggest which valve to get?

Lastly while I'm asking the experts is there anything that would be worth "tidying" up in there while I have it apart?

    Thanks in advance

    Geff

        Hi,
Maybe this could help ... allways original parts.

        Potentiometer, Potentiometer & Knöpfe

        or

You can build an amp from scratch at those sites, they have EVERYTHING !!
        Have fun with it.
