Is this what blocking distortion sounds like?

I did, sorry for not posting back. The problem was that I put some copper tape on the inside of the chassis cover (as a shield), but apparently it wasn't properly grounded, so it acted more like an antenna than a shield.

Grounding it properly did not do much in the way of reducing normal noise, so I ended up removing the shield altogether.

Needless to say, it had nothing to do with blocking distortion.

It's great that you're fixed! Thanks for posting back. I've heard that sound before and the next time I hear it I'll look for antennas!
