  • SWR WM 4004 headphone jack resistors

    Hi,
I have an SWR workingman 4004 on my bench where the 2 resistors tied from the speaker on/off switch to the headphone jack are fried beyond recognition. Anyone have the correct values of these guys? They aren't on any of the schematics I got from SWR. Thanks!

Call Fender and ask them, can;t hurt.

Here is the schematic from the WM2004.
      100 ohm. Wattage not indicated.

Should be easy enough to guess wattage.

By golly, that's exactly what I needed! Thanks Jazz P!

In general, just about any amp that uses the main output for headphones by adding resistors like that would serve as a model, regardless of brand.

So on a different but related note: Anybody have a line on where to get the 50k linear slide-pots that are used for the EQ section of this amp? SWR doesn't stock them anymore. Their PN is 0066768000.

Photo of the part please. What size is it - that is what is the travel from end to end for the shaft? We'll want to see the terminal pattern.

                  Travel is approximately 36mm
Length 46mm, Width 24mm, Depth 16mm, shaft is about 16mm.
                  Center detente.

That would likely be a 30mm slider then. Not the length of the slot, but distance between the center of the handle at each end. Er, you know what I mean. 30mm, 60mm 100mm are common sizes.

I see the screws, so they are screwed to a frame. Looks like pc board solder pins, but if I recall, the little board is just for the sliders alone, right? Oh, looks like one resistor for each too. SO if we had to we could hard wire them. There are only 5 and they are wired in parallel except the slide contact, so 7 wires.

                    Probably could make this work:

Isn't the pot assembled incorrectly (backwards)? You can see it on the second photo. Maybe if you assemble it correctly, it will work.

Mark- The board is actually broken at one end.
Enzo- Thanks so much, you are the man!

JP would you please post this schematic again?
                          Thanks
