Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.

And it's also human nature to blow smoke up our own a$$es. If you spend too much for something with the intention of improvement it's hard to be fully objective when considering the results."Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo

my favorite story for forced conned compliance is the spurious boner pill mfg (enzyte?) who had a "money back guarantee" requiring the conned party to get a doctors affidavit stating they were completely sexually inadequate and could in no way shape or form EVER satisfy a woman. Can anyone say they're genuinely surprised by this? By now someone has come up with a super-special mojo replacement for every component in every piece of equipment in your rig. Oh except for the power cord. Oh wait! Here it is! Well, at least it appears they're starting to run out of things to "mojotize".

Very disappointing to see them stoop to this level but not surprising to me since their website is full of marketing hype.
The transformers are fine, but things went haywire when somebody over there decided to exploit the DIY market. And I do mean exploit.

Right. Since its become trendy to build/mod tube amps the market for "gourmet" parts has really gotten out of control.
One example I can pull off the top of my head was a Traynor reverb master that came in with the complaint of blowing fuses after 15-20 mins. The culprit? *Both* of the "gourmet" paper/oil coupling caps to teh output section were leaky. The farmer takes a wife, the barber takes a pole....
