  • Peavey Heritage VTX HELP!

    peavey-heritage-vtx.pdf

Have this amp.. came to me with a bad distortion at all settings. Opened it up and found R3 (100 ohm 5 watt) open. Replaced it - no change. Replaced the 2 6465 transistors (Q9 and Q7) on a whim.... no change.

I am only getting 108 volts to pins 1 and 8 on the power tubes. I am getting 522vdc at 3 and 4.

I'm thinking now that it could be the transistors Q6 and Q8, but I do not know how to effectively test these and of course I am not sure these will do the trick anyways.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Replace Q6 & Q8.
A 2N3904 will work just dandy.

Hey, I am not that old.
(how do I change that pesky title)
Rather than replacing parts willy, nilly (I love that phrase), you really should observe the voltages that Peavey so kindly indicates on the schematic.
(rarer occurrance than you would think)
