    Thanks for the update, Lowell.
Did the soldering on both amps look bad on the IC?
I wonder if it is a heat issue.
That item sure was down in a tunnel.

Soldering seemed ok, but hard to see even with my loupe.

Sometimes there can be a bad connection with no visible signs.
Sometimes just reheat the whole board, will do the trick.
In many cases it was faster to just reheat the whole thing.

anyone still have the schematics for the 7pro? the ones posted above come up blank. mine just died last night. after over a year of everyday use and ALOT of gigging without a single hiccup, it let out a large POP and won't power up anymore. and BTW, the fuse is still fine. my guess is that something let go in the power supply.

Same thing here anyone have a schem??

I have output only with no load, with load all goes off

            relay clicks correctly....
            the preamp is fine...

an ic in the power supply have been overheated (i think that is the switching power supply IC, tomorrow I can read the labelling again)

Now they have put the "SVT" and "Ampeg" label on a transistor amplifier, to make you think you are buying an SVT, which you are not.
You have a switching power supply, with numerous interstage transformers and chokes. A schematic with no clear indication of the actual voltages and waveforms that are supposed to be present.
Understand the difference between the real one and the imitation. Purchase accordingly.
I just wanted to say I believe SVT stands for Super Valve Technology. This I new from the 70's with my first real SVT.
                I have a 72' and a mid 70's one.
72' from Linden New Jersey and the other from Magnavox.
I didn't reply to anger you in any way.
                Take care

                  Hi,
I have an SVT 7 Pro. The amp works okay other than switching on and of with a repeating pattern
I have used my stethoscope to locate the click I was hearing and it is the TH1 thermistor.
Do these thermistors just go bad. The amp isn't on long enough to heat up at all.
If these just go bad than I will replace it with one from U.S. Sensor Corp. in California.
                  Ampeg probably doesn't sell parts.
Personally I wouldn't buy any product LOUD offers.
Ampegs today aren't really intended for repair.
I am a tube dude and really don't care for SS amps.....however I do repair them If I can.
SMD circuits are very good for cell phone and PC's but in amps they are cheap and crap!
                  Oh well just my opinion.

I have one that's about 3 years old. Yesterday it started going out at a gig and within 1 minute just shut off. Now it will not power up.
                            Any ideas why?

Welcome to the place. It would serve you better to start a new thread for your amp as this one is quite old and has already been hijacked.

Have you checked the main power fuse?
