  • Elk Echo Sonic, anyone?

Does anyone here have an Elk Echo-Sonic amp? I picked one up off of eBay recently. It still had the original Matsushita tubes. I replaced all the tubes and restored it's volume level. Reverb seems to work but it's quiet. Tremolo doesn't seem to work at all. I think the 40+ year old oil filled caps could be the cause. If they are dry them my circuit isn't charging/discharging to modulate the volume.

Does anyone have a schematic for it? I started tracing it out with paper and pencil too.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I plan on replacing the caps. There aren't that many of them. Some are under the board and could be hard to get to but I'll figure it out.

I've seen that thread before and there are a lot of links there. Most of those links lead to Japanese or Asian language sites that I either can't display or can't read if I can display. There was no schematic on there that seemed to match this amp.

The Echo Sonic is a single-ended cathode biased amp with a 6BQ5/EL84 power tube.
