It looks like a diode. It's located on the cathode of the output tubes in parallel with the 1 ohm resistor for measuring bias voltage.

What is cr-3 in FENDER DEVILLE

It was originally 1N5062 as on the schematics, but the more recent versions just use a 1N4006. A 1N4007 would be fine as well. I see no reason to order some special part if you have 1N4007 already. It is just a 1A diode.
What is wrong with yours? It will measure shorted while in circuit of course, due to the 1 ohm resistor.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

I had clippedd it out for trouble shooting & wondered if it was important & what should I replace it with? I couldn't find a parts list to see what they called for......

Well, whichever version schematic you have, with either type diode, the diode type is printed on the schematic next to the part.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
