First trip to tube amplification.. That's broken.

    The tube heaters are inside the actual tubes at the bottom. Some amps do have goofy lights that are just for show, don't know if this amp has them.
    If the heaters are running, the tubes will get a bit warm. You should see 2 little lights at the bottom of each preamp tube, and one for each power tube.
    If you don't see heaters or feel warmth in any tubes, check the heater fuse F6. It must be a slow-blow type, otherwise the turn-on surge can make it blow.

      Ok I pulled the f6 fuse and it's no good. I'll put all new fuses in and see where I stand.
      When I got it it had one oddball tube in it so maybe that could have caused some issues?

        Admins please close thread. I have decided to abandon this project. I have no more answers and there are no decent repair men around where I live. Thank you guys for your help, I just have tried everything that I was told and still no results. Seems out of my reach. 👍

          So you put a 6.25A slow-blow fuse in F6 position and it blew again?

              I think a schematic is in order. We need to know what might draw that sort of current other than a bad tube. Assuming all the tubes were replaced. If the tubes aren't the cause there must be a circuit failure or a transformer failure. A schem and voltage readings are what's needed now.

                See post #2 for schematic.
                Aside from tubes there are a couple things in the heater circuit that could blow the fuse. The diode bridge D19,20,21,22 and the sidac TR1.
                But I'm not sure if the OP wants to proceed or is up/equipped for component replacement. If not, that's ok, if yes, that's ok too!
