Local guy on Clist (who does pretty work) will re-cover a 5150/6505 head shell in std. PV skin for $125, while Shannon at PV parts department just priced a new covered head shell
    93000155- CABINET, COVERED $108.07 ea
quite the bargain even with shipping...

I do love the PV folks.

Are the prices for the same thing? I forget, are there tolex covered front or rear panels that might not come with the factory new shell?

I don't know Enzo, Shannon said it was a naked covered head shell so I imagine its just the wood shell and the tolex stuck to it. Those panels disappear on a very regular basis and I've never seen replacements, even for the much hated (and expensive CNC machined!?) Mudflap girl...

the old Ultra 120 could really use a new shell

as the wood really doesn't need to be 1.5" of ply and particle board

          Wonders of large scale production.

          And probably low China wages.

            Yeah, I am just curious.

If you order a new Fender Twin cab, it won't include the two rear cover panels, some do not include the grille/baffle. Just wondering if there were any parallels here. I guess the front and rear panels are not "covered", in the sense of no tolex. So probably a non-issue.

Hmmmm the foot switch cable the guy gave me only has 5 pins, not the 7 typical ones
its also a thicker cable than the 6505+ cable on the right... I cannot find any PV cable with 5 pins but I wonder what this one is for. Needless to say it doesn't work on the XXX, now I need to get the unused pin 2 to light a yellow LED on the footswitch for the Crunch channel...

The amp RAGES! Huge breathing distortion and sustain! I LOVE it! What a gain monster!

I'm finding that out after trying to sell off my accumulated gear with mixed success (in the SF south bay). Anything between $30 and $60 will sell quickly. Otherwise, good luck with kids with no driver's license/car, low ballers etc etc. Basically, ye olde CL experience.
