OK, she's up and running and sounding just fine for a 40-year-old 45-watt bass amp. The only parts used were a 3" piece of bare hookup wire and 6 squirts of D5 Deoxit.
I did learn something eye opening (for me) in the process. When I first fired up the amp the output signal was very distorted, so I hooked up the scope and could see that the negative half the wave was all but missing. Looked closer at the two output transistors and saw that one wasn't tight to the chassis. Made sure all 4 screws were tight and she came alive.
