Happy NEW YEARS!!!!!!
Wow! I'm stuck at home because of a puny snow storm and freeze we have going right now. The only excuse I have is that we aren't typically in the throes of temps in the teens and ice on the roads, so... The county doesn't have any good regimes for managing road conditions and the service industry workers (like me) drive ordinary "fleet" vehicles. My 1999 E-150 is a "1 legger" and honestly can't manage icy conditions at all. And Ice is what we have! The ground was warm enough when the snow started and then the temps dropped. So it's not the snow, it's the layer of hard ice underneath it and all the gradient driveways and parking areas that become problematic. Since we don't actually deal with it much there aren't many people driving trucks that can manage these road conditions.
The good news is that it's not supposed to last more than a week. But that IS a weeks income lost. It could be worse and I can't say I don't need the time off. But the only reason I haven't taken it is because I can't afford to. See how that happens.?. You take the good with the bad. No one wants a painter in their house the day after Christmas anyway and it's NORMALLY a hard week to fill.
Nothing like our upper mid west and northern peeps are dealing with (though they're surely better rigged up for it). Hoping the best and comfortable circumstances for all.
