  • (Old) Peavey Pacer 100 SS keeps blowing fuses...

The description says it all. Can anyone help? I'm a novice at amps.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you solder parts on a circuit board? Can you identify the parts? Can you look at a schematic and identify which ones there are the real parts in the amp? Do you have and can use a meter?

Most common reason for an SS amp to blow fuses is shorted output transistors.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

I can solder. I'm not 100% on schematics but there's always google. I know how to check continuity with a meter and output on a pickup but that's about it.
Is the output transistor the little thing that looks like a black hat?

Here is a chassis shot that I grabbed off of the web.

The output transistors are attached directly to the chassis.

They do p[robably have black plastic covers on them, which do resemble a cowboy hat.
