This amp came to me with Omron relays that have the coil marked with a polarity. Further, after pulling them out, I verified that when connected per the markings, the relay fired...and when reversed, it did not.
Some relays with low power coils have permanent magnet assistance, hence the coil emf has to add (rather than subtract) to this, so is polarity sensitive - I've used omron relays with this spec. Peter
Some relays come with a built in diode and this is a reason to say they have polarity otherwise Enzo is right. I'm using those instead of Vactrols all the time. They have two versions - without and with built in diode /product # ending with D/.
