    That reminds me of the aerobics for seniors, "three more... two more... three more..."

        This isn't exactly inside an amp, but the thread reminded me of it. I originally got this in a box of Rane manuals that was mailed to me when I was a Rane dealer. My first thought was, "I didn't know they made an exciter?". Then, I read the thing.

          The pseudoacoustic infector, one of my favorites. Separate Power and GLory switches.

            I can't find any pictures, but I recall Digitech used to have some pretty funny stuff written on their product boxes, too. It would say (something like) Do not fold, spindle, or mutilate,...... saute, fry, melt, etc.

              So did Rane steal the Power and Glory switch thing from Aiken, or did Aiken steal it from Rane?

                Well, I first got the Rane cut sheet in the late 80's-early 90's. I'm not sure when that Aiken piece was built. Probably not relevant anyway since the Rane thing is a farce.

                  I know that Aiken did the Power/Glory thing for Power/Standby switches as far back as the Invader amps. I always thought it was funny.

                    You could ask this guy , but it doesn't look like he's logged in for a while.

                      He's a lurker now. He hasn't posted in ages but the board says his last activity was yesterday at 2:37 pm.

                        I picked up the Rane thing at least 25 years ago.

                            No, too easy to fuck it up.

                              I just came across an invoice dated 2010 I found in the back of an amp from a London repair guy;

                              Boogie Tremoverb
                              Reverb tray re-seat plugs
                              Check

                              Time, test and parts
                              £100

                              That's one hell of a rate. It came to me with a non-functional reverb due to a broken lead inside the tray.

                                Benefit of the doubt: looks like a shop minimum. I charged an hour minimum.
