The tech department at hammond said the 1750p ot is for the jcm 900 but would work for the jcm 2000 50w. Any advice?

Marshall used their TXOP-00002 in both those amps, so yes it will work.
The classictone replacement is also spec'd for both those models:

Looking at the spec sheet
https://www.hammfg.com/files/parts/pdf/1750P.pdf
It's got a 3k4 primary and 2/4/8/16 secondaries and is rated for 50W. All those numbers look dead-on for that application.
that multi-tap secondary is a nice feature. you don't see many that have both 2R and 16R taps. it would make a good "universal" OT."Stand back, I'm holding a calculator." - chinrest
"I happen to have an original 1955 Stratocaster! The neck and body have been replaced with top quality Warmoth parts, I upgraded the hardware and put in custom, hand wound pickups. It's fabulous. There's nothing like that vintage tone or owning an original." - Chuck H
