Changed out the filter cap on Hilgen Troubadour , it had (2) 5watt 2.2k resistors mounted across it , they measure close to a max 10% tolerance 2437 & 2315 ohms . I have only been able to find 5w 2k and 2.7k block resistors , can order 2.2k blocks from china , maybe months before they arrive . What to do ?? trust the originals and call it good ??

The 2.2K resistors are dropping resistors for the preamp.
I would not hesitate to leave them alone.

Short answer: no.
Longer answer: the primary characteristic difference between CC and wirewound resistors is that CC have a higher intrinsic noise (hiss) that can be audible in certain parts of the circuit. Power supply? Not significant. A secondary characteristic is that CC resistors will drift with voltage, heat, and time. Yours have already drifted, and are a few % higher than nominal. Replacing them with a resistor of the 'correct' 2.2k value will have a bigger change on the sound of the amp than changing the resistor composition. CAVEAT: random swapping in search of some kind of tonal 'grail' is rarely fruitful. I see no reason to remove what you have for those resistors. They should be fine for another 50 years. If it still won't get loud enough, it's probably broken. - Steve Conner
