  • Fender Champion 300 No Output

I have a signal on the headphone jack and at pin 10 of the LM3876. No output at pin 3 of LM3876.

LM3876 pin 1 has +27V, pin 4 should have -27V but there is nothing there.

I have -27 VDC at C64 and D27. C64 and D27 have continuity. Neither has continuity to LM3876 pin 4.

Neither C64, D27 or LM3876 pin 4 has continuity to chassis ground.

I cannot get a probe on C49 and have not pulled the board out yet. Suggestions? Would a bad C49 cause this problem?

    Thank you!

I am attaching Champion 30 schematic which appears identical.

If you have not flipped the board yet, I'd expect pin4 (and maybe others) of the LM3876 needs to be resoldered. If it is good, the layout shows a few wire jumpers in the area, maybe one of them carries the -27V and needs resoldering.

Spot on. At least half had cold solders. She is working like a "champion" once again!

      Thank you
