  • Vox AC15cc1 transformer discontinued - other transformers compatible??

    Hello all ,
i have a blown transformer from a lightning storm (unplug your amp when you aren’t playing!). The transformer is no longer available for the CC1 but a technician turned me onto the similarity of the transformer used for model C1 and ac30c2.

does anyone know if these are compatible? I can provide schematics if needed. Thank you

Jazz P Bass was just dealing with this in another thread. Maybe he will comment.

In my experience, for the transformer to be blown, due to a lightning storm, there will be catastrophic damage to many stages, least of all the mains switch that will be toast.
If the mains switch was off, there will be storm damage in and around it. Severel thousands of volts at extreme current does a lot of damage.
With several thousands of volts across the transformer primary, many thousands of volts will have been produced on the secondaries!
I would look for damage and do some thorough tests before spending all of your hard earned on a folly. Check the windings for the heaters, one has a 25volt winding and the other a 5volt winding.

If you can't fix it, I probably can.
