  • oh mesa, you've done it again!

Got a Dual Rectifier Solo head that won't recognize the footswitch once warmed up, or switches to the orange channel which is the default when the rear switch is set to Foot Switch with no switch attatched.

I'm "pretty sure" the switch is the problem, it sits below the output tubes and it and the ribbon cable are getting very hot.

Fiddling with it causes it to work properly and recognize the foot switch, BUT.... true to mesa form, it's a PIA to get to.
You need to remove the board above it and it looks like the output tube board also.

great how they cram all this stuff in these.

The WWII generation had a word for this: blivet. 10 pounds of $#!+ in a 2 pound sack.

This isn't the future I signed up for.

Great drummer we had was in a band called Blivet!

Luckily was able to get to the switch by just removing the long jack board above it and fix the switch and cable.

Four hours later it's still working okay.

Goes to prove, one blivet is never enough. Important advice: don't mix up your blivets!
