  • Ampeg V2 - rewiring to 240V

    I'm trying to rewire it for 240V, schematic says that I need to connect BLK to BLU... Shouldn't it say BLK+BLU.WH (not BLU)?

    Blue = Neutral.
    Blu/Wh and Blck connect together.
    Blck/White = Live.
    REMOVE C21 and connect earth wire, from your new mains lead, to chassis for your own safety!

    If you can't fix it, I probably can.

      Thanks! So, the schematic is wrong in the description on the bottom that says "connect BLK wire to BLU wire for 240v operation"... that's what I've thought.

      PS: And fuse, 3A instead of 6 :-)

        Yes, half value fuse to protect the transformer.
        You will remove the DEATH cap and install a 3 pin plug and lead, won't you.

          And what about pilot lights - they run at 120v from what I remember? Now they will get 240?

            You will need to wire up the pilot light so it goes between the blck/wh and the blck of the power transformer.

              The pilot light is fitted across the relevant primary tapping and will still be on the same tapping and receive the same voltage, as does the fan (if fitted).
