Been searching to find the volume and tone pots for this little amp. Is there a direct replacement for these? A50K and B50K. I know it's a cheesy little throw away amp, but this is for a friend, and he has a sentimental attachment to this thing. Both pots are seized up so replacement is the only option. I tried to get the shafts freed up to turn but the pot metal housing broke on them. Thanks

You will not find those in Mouser or many of the main suppliers. Here is a selection of B type, others are available but you may have to cut the shaft down to the length you require.

If you can't fix it, I probably can.

Like pretty girls answer me when I ask for their phone:"itīs in the phonebook".
We need original pot pictures, case measurements and shaft diameter to pick a compatible one.
Mini-knobs might have same split knurled shafts as other Marshall pots or not, check that.Juan Manuel Fahey

It might be obvious, but whenever you need to shorten a pot shaft, find a way to clamp the shaft and NOT the pot case.
Otherwise you might ruin the pot.
Again: Don't rely on clamping the pot case when cutting the shaft. Hold the shaft instead - or at least additionally.Last edited by Helmholtz; 09-11-2022, 10:01 PM.- Own Opinions Only -

This ought to get me where I need to be. The measurements are very close. May or may not have to trim anything.

Each of them offers an incredibly detailed datasheet, with tons of options, as to shaft - collar - leg orientation, PCB/wire legs, etc.
I would open each and check bit by bit which applies.
I guess you want short collar, short shaft, simply because itīs a *pocket* amplifier so every mm counts, but match what you measure to what datasheet shows.
meaning you might not have to touch anything.
Worst case, Dremel is your friend .Juan Manuel Fahey
