I'd like to take this opportunity to thank both Tubeswell & Steve Conner for their willingness to help! I never suspected I'd be getting help from overseas, but I really appreciate it!
As what I've wanted all along is a "hefty presence boost" (plus it seems easier), I think I'll try Mr. Conner's suggestion first. If it's too much presence, then I'll try wiring a pot in & making things variable. Any suggestions as to what brand/type caps I should go with? The same friend that gave me the amp has a fair selection of older used caps (he's bought up a bunch of old amps & organs to pirate parts from), or I can buy new--whatever you think will sound best. So far, this amp idles VERY quietly, and I'd like to keep it that way.
