      If the lead singer can't work with the band to get a better overall sound (by playing less loud), then he needs to go. It's not a "who's loudest" competition, you're supposed make music together. Make things less loud and you'll actually be able to hear what you're playing (you're also less likely to suffer permanent hearing damage).

      It can be difficult to make two guitars heard properly in a band, because they typically occupy the same frequencies and have similar sounds. Turning both amps up as far as they go is not a working solution. Some ideas on how to achieve separation between guitars:
      1. Well defined roles: lead guitar - loud, rythm guitar - more in the background
      2. Different frequency range - one mid-boosted, the other mid-scooped
      3. Different type of sounds - one clean(ish), one crunchy
      4. Different guitars (one single coil, one humbucker)
