  • egnator Tweaker 15 Needs a little more gain

    Hi all
I have been asked to get a little more gain out of this amp. 6V6GT version with the 510R cathode resistor I know that some came with 220R but they would burn tubes out early. currently running at 85% , room get it a little hotter
    Egnater_tweaker_15.pdf
But my main question, Is there anything i can do with V1 stage that can add a little more gain
I can see there is a fet stage before V1.

    Let me know your idea's

R20 and C23 are marked "np" which I assume means not populated. You could try fitting say 1k and 22u in those positions.

Morning changed the bias resistor from 510R to 280R now got 95% plate dissipation . fitted the 1k and 22uf and there's a little more.
not sure if its going to be enough... we shall see.

For even more gain, replace R20 by a short.
