Hello all, this is my first post on this site. I inherited an old tube powered amp pro tape recorder from my grandfather in non working condition. It was already partially taken apart, but the electronics were all together. It also included a schematic in the user instructions. I went on and disassembled the unit, and checked the transformer windings to make sure they were good. I also removed the board, filter caps, and tubes. I would like to use these parts in constructing a simple single ended tube amp with a volume control. I tried my hand at coming up with a simple schematic to do so. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would critique what I've come up with to make this circuit will work. I also need to know where to put a volume pot. Between the input and the grid of the 12AX7, or inbetween the plate and grid of the 6AQ5? I might be wrong altogether! I'm just getting started in tube electronics, although I'm a liscensed electrician so working with and testing circuits is something I can do. Many thanks to anyone that replies!
