Just wondering if anyone else finds using 2 different brands of tunes in a cathode biased amp useful for shaping the amp's tone. I have 3 different sets of EL34's, and i tried a tung sol RI which is a very very different sound. Like many say it does sound much more fenderish with the in your face hardness as opposed to the smooth soft sound of the typical 34. And the SED is just that, a smooth soft typical EL34 like the old seimens. I like certain things about the tung sol, but theres too much of it. using one of those and a SED gives a nice blend of the two. Who else has found this usefull?
