  • spacing between eyelets on a board

I'm about ready to drill holes for the eyelets in a piece of G03 (red fiberglass) and was wondering how far apart to place them.

I'm using standard components for a tube guitar amps - carbon comp resistors, Mallory coupling caps, and Illinois electrolytics.

I put together a simple layout using AppleWorks (attached). The circuit is very similar to a Matchless Spitfire - one preamp stage, long-tail-pair, push-pull output tubes.

    How does this sound:
3/8" for general spacing, such as resistors
1/2" for larger components like coupling caps and cathode RC's
    3/4" for electrolytics

    Thanks!!

    PS
I've seen Visio library for PC, but is there anything for us Mac people?

I used OpenOffice Draw for the Trenton Studio. (The .ZIP files were zipped using gzip. )

OODraw doesn't really support user libraries, so I had to cut-and-paste to copy parts around, but it did get the job done.

Using OO does require installing XWindows, and the key mappings are PC-like for cut/paste, but again - it gets the job done and it's free.

    Hope this helps!

Well, the simple drawing seemed to work out fine.

Check out the new tweed chassis with a red eyelet board.

Next up is making a tweed cabinet for it.
