Do you know where one can buy /retail/ pots like these or similar but with higher values /like 250k log, 1M log/ for guitar amp use:

    http://www.tme.eu/carbon-potentiomet...0n-b1k__2.html

    Thanks.

Thanks. I buy regularly from those sites but I need the pots with the mounting stuff.

The mounting stuff can be removed from the former pots and placed on the new if youre replacing. Otherwise, try Peavey replacements because they use those kind of stuff.

Not only Peavey is using them but it looks like they're available only in bulk directly from the manufacturer.

Have you tried contacting any manufacturer? For example this one: http://www.song-huei.com.tw/product....cid=83&pid=326
            or: http://www.song-huei.com.tw/product....&cid=40&pid=75

One can easely make those monting angles or what you call them in english?
Just take a long sheet of metal, drill the hols, cut out the pins and cut the pieces apart. Then ... damn a dont know the english word for sharply bending the metal sheets

Yes, I have. I contacted several distributors as well but they wouldn't sell less than 500-1000 pcs per pot value.
TaiwanAlpha for example wouldn't sell to retailers but only to OEM.
One manufacturer /the pots from my link/ said he couldn't make pots that are more than 100k.
No answer from ALPS so far but I think I already know the answer.
Basically if you need similar pots that are more than 100k you're screwed.

What about combining this one: http://www.tme.eu/carbon-potentiomet...-b500r__2.html
                    with this one: http://www.tme.eu/carbon-potentiomet...0n-b1k__2.html ?
At least the problem of 500k pot should be solved. I know the shop (it's in Poland and I often buy from them) and they will sell you even 2 potentiometers.

                      What about combining...
I was thinking about that but it means a lot of work. If I need 10 pcs it's OK, but for 50 or 100 pcs I'll have to hire someone...
If those manufacturers sell such quantities to OEM I think they could sell some to retailers as well but maybe it's either company policy or there's no retail demand for them.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a lot of work". I'd say it's something like 20-30 seconds per 1 potentiometer. Another issue is that if you order 50 pots, design a PC board, you are stuck to the seller (especially after you make and sell the first 10 boards).
I don't know what is this CTR manufacturer (Far East?): http://www.tme.eu/carbon-potentiomet...0n-b1k__2.html but I know that you can ask people at TME for any pots. They will help you but in case of products from China, Taiwan it takes 2-3 months - it's not quick .

MarkusBass, thanks for the Song Huei's link. It looks like the German distributor will be able to help me. They also have other types of pots I'm interested in. Thank you!

I just have to ask. Why do you need those mounting stuff? Do it the marshall way with a long metal sheet with holes for each pot and some angles that is
fastened on the pcb board. That way its easier to remove the pots as well from the pcb.

I also wonder why the support brackets are necessary? If the board is securely anchored and the pots are screwed down tight to the panel by their nuts, it is covered.

Almost all pots in commercial amps are custom ordered for the OEM. Alps doesn't have them all on the shelf. But within any OEMs product line, I'd bet most common values are covered, so if you want an amp full of pot values, find them all in Peavey, or Fender, Or Crate, or whomever, and order them from that OEM.
