Thanks, JMF. I wonder though, will it still be okay if I use an extra tube in a diode configuration like what tboy was talking about?

This tranny is a bit on the large size, but I'll take it. The original is only 1.5 x 1.5.

Oh, and can you tell me what kind of rectifier to order to match the transformer?

Yes, it's slightly large, but looks well built and the price is right.
I wouldn't dare to power another filament, because it means doubling the load , too much.
In a 5 tube preamp , adding a 6th one is not *that* much, but here 1 more is 200% overload.
Check their site, maybe they have a bigger brother, *or* you can add an extra 6.3V transformer, just for filaments.

Need some quick help, guys. I'm finalizing my parts order and need some confirmation.

I've decided to order the parts for a Hotbox in addition to the Westbury. I have a larger transformer that would work for the Hotbox. Specs: 306 VDC @ 27mADC, 240 VAC @ 27mA, 6.6V @ 1.05A. The Hotbox schematic specifies an MP 3510 bridge rectifier. This GBPC3510-E4/51 Vishay Semiconductors Bridge Rectifiers is the least expensive of the 3510's. I'm assuming that it will work.

But I would prefer a cheaper one if possible. Will this bridge rectifier work? KBP06M-E4/45 Vishay Semiconductors Bridge Rectifiers.

It would appear that Matchless used the most expensive part in the Hotbox at every turn.

Where does the Matchbox specify that?
          Please post your version.
          Mine is:

and it uses only a couple 1N4007 (you might use 4 of them in a bridge configuration to match your transformer.

Hmm, well that's weird. There are a few different schematics out there. This is the one I was referring to: Matchless Download Page - matchless-hotbox-overdrive-schematic.pdf || ABELtronics.

            And here's a couple more:

We lost the first schematic somewhere (the one tube version). The schematics with a center tap on the HV winding can use two diodes. the one that doesn't have a center tap (your 306v@27ma) needs a full wave bridge. The little one should work.
