  • Microcontroller Playing Guitar

    Hey friends,
I am a mechatronics engineer, and I love embedded systems. I've worked on different types of projects, and now I want to have fun with my machines, so I decided to create the automatic guitar using my knowledge of basics of ESP32 functions. I am an expert at controlling the stepper motor, and the technical part of this project is clear to me, but I am confused about the guitar's chords. I've learned about it through the internet, but is it fine to work only on chords or should I learn more? I am using the Astrophe guitar from Amazon, and the project is that the user will insert the MP3 file into the laptop, and the ESP32 will play the guitar. I need some motivation and additional information, so is there anyone ready for the discussion? Also, give me ideas for the noise cancellation.

    Something like this?

Here player has a dozen fingers in his left hand and half a dozen on the right, used as needed.

Recording is horrible but it gives you an idea.

Team Dare (somewhere in Scandinavia?) did an excellent guitar robot about 10y ago that played Yngwie, so few chords and even less melody ; )

Or theres this more recent modest effort

I'd stick with midi versions of guitar music, MP3 require some complex decoding, good luck!
