    I remember how pervasive the sound was in the 1970s. The disco beat and the basslines were so pervasive that they became oppressive. Even as a bass player, I couldn't stand it in the 1970s. It was literally too much of a good thing gone bad. the result? Here in Chicago we had an anti-disco riot at a Sox game...
