  • DP3T slide switch for 2 humbuckers

I have a Strat I've built with 2 humbuckers wired in a standard Les Paul set up (3 way switch, 2 volumes, 2 tones). I've had no problems with it over the past two years, however I'd like to change something on it and don't have the wiring knowledge to go about it. Anyone want to help?

Instead of using the toggle switch found on a Les Paul, I'd like to use a 3 way slide switch instead. Problem is I don't know how to wire it.

It is DP3T (double-pole/triple-throw), on/on/on with eight lugs, four on each pole.

I'd like to have it be neck / neck-bridge / bridge.

It's the bottom one in the picture below. Thank you to anyone that can help.

Just did a quick google search and this popped up...

Don't think you need a DP3T. But a SPDT would do just fine

A DPDT wont give him the three pickup settings.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
