Hi, curious what people use for single coil lead wire. I'm thinking of getting some 22gauge stranded, cloth-covered wire, however I cannot find any.

Very surprising. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

I have no patients with that cloth wire, it unravels and looks messy and it's hard to strip. It's also way too big if you have a lot of other wiring happening in a small cavity. I really like the teflon insulated 19 strand awg24. I have 1000 foot spools in white and black. I did get an Ideal wire-stripper to go with it and that makes life a lot easier.

I love that wire, you bend it to shape and it stays that way, its great for using in amps for that reason for lead dress.http://www.SDpickups.com

I love teflon wire. I used some Alpha teflon wire I had for like 30 years, but when I ran low the price of a new roll was too high, so I went with some regular 24 AWG Belden wire.It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Well that sure has nothing to do with pickup wire...It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

It was very market speak, talking about an uncertain future in tech and they have the answers or some such crap.
I should have quoted it in my reply.

Thermal Wire Stripper
I just got a used Stripall TWC-1 thermal wire stripper at a hamfest for $25. (They cost about $370 new.)
It does a very nice job on teflon wire, and I bet it will do nicely on cloth-covered wire as well. I think a lot of these strippers are coming up for small dollars as electronic assemblers go belly up.

By the way, the patent is US 3,143,635.
