I had a great conversation with John Suhr at the NAMM Show. Somehow we'd never met over the years, and he came over to my booth to remedy that. I told him about my having published my idea for the large, lower Z dummy coil on the MIMF in 2001 or so. David, do you have a link to that post? It is significant, and I need to send the link to John for intellectual property reasons... Much of the patent is probably moot and unenforceable, and that would suit John just fine. He'd just as soon see that be in the public domain. He impressed me as a really smart and good guy.
War story...
I was out of the guitar biz for about 8 years in the 1980s, and one of the jobs I did was managing the remodeling of a small hotel in San Francisco. We completely demolished all the plaster on lath to rewire and re-plumb the place. In one of the rooms, it turned out that the old wiring had shorted to the steel lath and one entire wall of the room had turned into a radiant electric heater. Yes, it could have burned the whole place down, but didn't.
