The gauss meter doesn't check the pickups output level, it reads the gauss level of the magnet.

The A1302 sensor you recieved had a blue piece of tape on it, the number written on that tape is the number you would enter in calibration mode if you want your meter to read as closely to the professional ones that were used as comparison tools.

      ...

It looks like the meter reads 438???? Man, that is super low, is that thing accurate?

That will only show you the gauss reading where the probe is. You need to measure the gauss over the whole face of the magnet.

Hi, Mr.RedHouse ,Mr. Pospum and Mr. Spence

You see pic 1... that Before Set Probe 1

and Pic 2 , that After set , that right ?

          Probe 2 is mean ?

Now been set Calibration 0.400 mV/G , that right ?

pickup you see is alnico II , I used neodymium make change gauss level

I do this correctly or not?

              Realtonecustom,

Your calibration method looks correct to me.

The Probe 2 is a second calibration setting for a different probe. Some of us are needing to measure magnets that are stronger than the current probe allows. Right now we are limited to 1700G but a different hall sensor will increase that by 10x or something like that.

Using a small neo magnet to degauss alnico magnets is one way to do this. I've also heard of people using tape head demagnetizers to accomplish the same thing.
