Wow! This is the first time I heard the news.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

              Message from Wendy Dio
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

              - Wendy Dio

That woman (Candice Night) is his wife! Do you think he would replace his wife?

Besides that, Dio's voice wouldn't work with that renaissance-influenced music.

I think she has a nice voice. It's not metal. It's more like the old prog band Renaissance with rock guitar. I'd rather listen to Blackmore's Night than Rainbow!

I did see Deep Purple with Blackmore back in the day. That was a great show!

Used to be you just had to buy the 1/2 aged bimbos shiny stuff, not let them front your band...

Rainbow wasn't gods gift but I'd rather listen to them than that Celtic woman meets Yes crap any day,

                        to each their own!

Well I guess Ritchie doesn't agree either. And after all, Deep Purple was more of a prog rock band than a metal band (well it wasn't "metal" back then anyway).

Also how is she Celtic? She was born in Long island NY! Her last name is Isralow. I think that's a Jewish name. So I'm more Celtic than she is! What's wrong, you don't like the Irish?

And like Yes or not, Steve Howe is a great guitarist.

Huh? What a bizarre statement. Dio's voice would have fit that "Crystal Ball" tune perfectly.
I didn't realize that there was so much early Dio stuff from the 60's on Youtube now. I'd only heard about it. Check the change from the Thamesmen to Spinal Tap!

He's comparing her to the act "Celtic Woman." Huge pop music production hit. Sorta similar except far more mainstream / old-folk friendly. Oh, and a lot more Irish and traditional Celtic rather than gained out Strats. Unless you're going tongue in cheek and I missed.

By the way, I'm am very much agreeing with your tastes here. A couple years ago found myself listening to a bunch of Night and thinking I must be old and white and came to grips with it.

And just for the haters, Richie and Candace have been together for decades.
My rants, products, services and incoherent babblings on my blog.
