To T-Boy: what's so great 'bout this software that made you take the plunge?

First look doesn't seem much... a lot of white space and a very cold interface; but maybe there are cool features hidden underneath the hood?

        Let's hear 'bout'em.

I noticed that I am not automatically logged in anymore and find that rather inconvenient. Is there an option how I can change this?

It looks generic, like a clean room in a new house that needs furniture. I want to paint my screen.

Not too bad once you start to get used to it. I notice the home button doesn't work... takes me to a page with this notice:

David Schwab, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I also see we lost the thanks button. But I'm sure things will get tweaked along the way.

I think we need some new carpeting too.

For a second, I thought I was at the wrong site...

This is happening to me as well.

                    No worries yet.

Post-edit: The Opera Browser (under Linux) now renders line breaks correctly.
Previously, I could only make formatted posts from Firefox.

"Det var helt Texas" is written Nowegian meaning "that's totally Texas." When spoken, it means "that's crazy."

I for one like the cleaned-up look, I'll get used to this in no time. I don't mind losing the thanks button either.

                          Okay
                          <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Well, I don't find any "empty" space, on the contrary.
That so called "empty" space *is* occupied by something else.
About 35% of useful screen space is occupied by a wide column on the left, which displays poster data only; and many posts, seemingly at random, get coaxed into 28 character or less columns, which breaks sentences, etc.
I feel like I'm navigating on my I Phone.
I think this kind of display is great for teen chat boards, where the typical dialog goes like :
                          - Whoa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                          - Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!
                          _ Luuuuuuuvvvvvvv iiiiiitttttttttt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                          -Meeee toooooooooooo !!!!!!

and so on, but here discussions often get "meatier".
Well, there's people who finds Vista an improvement !!!

I also miss when you hover your cursor over a Posting title and you can read a few extra words, to decide whether it's worth opening or not.

NOTE: it also loads much slower than before, and stupid Firefox "freezes" as usual when it has "too much to think about", now for a longer time.
Nothing new, but it got from slightly annoying to unbearable.

Can't I download a patch, plugin or something so the actual data sent by he board remains the same, but gets displayed the old way on my end of the line?

                          Thanks.
