And see, you coudn't do this with the old software.

This is an update to the vBulletin software. I frequency a few other forums that use it, and they all look exactly like this.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

It's not about the spelling. it's about the punctuation. It seems to only be an internet thing. People try to use diacritical accents to use as common apostrophes and quotation marks. I've even seen it in articles on websites like C|Net.

I'm a lousy speller by the way.

Oh and this new forum software does not remember my login if I close the window. it's not placing a persistent cookie.

David, If you click on HOME, where it says you don't have permission ,or something like that, you can log in there and it has the check block for remember me. I tried it, closed the window and it remembered me. I didn't have to log in again.

I just got that log in window with a friend request and saw that "remember me" check box. I didn't have that login screen when I clicked on home. The other sites I visit that use this software have the "remember me" check box at the top where you log in.

                      Seems to be working now.

getting the same thing here. (For anyone else confused) : (instructions to get to the page mentioned with the log in, check box) :

log out -> (get page where it says) "all cookies cleared" -> click on HOME -> log in page with check box -> log in (and check "Remember Me"), then hope it works!

                        edit: seems to be working!

                          Thanks David
One is never to old to learn. Luckily there are helpful people like you and some of the guys in the shop where I work in in Vienna are always happy to help me out with my German.

                          All the best

Seems like every post that starts with a quote has a huge blank space before the quote, can that be fixed?

I don't see the blank space. I think it's a user formatting error.

I'm seeing the same thing as RH, quoted posts that begin with the quoted text start below the user avatar, post count, etc. I'm using IE7
