Yep, here is my latest. 25.5 inch scale, my own pickups, very flamey top, set neck, mahogany back, 3 piece neck, natural nirto finish.

Dave, I love your bass's body shape. Is it easy to play for a short guy like me - 5'9"?

Copperheadroads, where did you get your Strat's body blueprints? Do you draw them yourself?

Here's mine - I just happen to love the Tele body shape. There's something to it primal? to me that Strats just don't have.



The black one is the first one I ever made. The blue one has a Strat's arm and belly contours and my very first prototype P-90 pickups in it.

Here's my latest one. The top is spalted flamed maple. The body is chambered, almost hollow with a center block, like a ES-335.
The back has a belly cut like a Strat has, and the neck/body joint is cut down so my hands are more comfortable.

I decided when I made my first guitar that I would do something entirely unique and I also decided to stick all kinds of switching options on it. Nowadays I like guitars with simple controls...volume, tone and switch, and thats about it. Anyway, you can see the few that I've made over the years here.

The weird looking hook-shaped one was my first one and I still have it. It plays very nicely and I have it set up as a heavy metal guitar with Duncan Full Shreds in bridge and neck and a Pearly Gates neck in the middle. The neck is a bit thick so at some point I will reshape it and refinish it, but for now it is good enough.

The bass is a copy of Rickenbacker 4001 that I made. I used to have a '73 4001 that needed a ton of work to play correctly, so using that as a template, and ordering the pickups and bridge and making the rest of the hardware, I made myself a copy. I started another at the same time but haven't finished it yet. I sold the '73 after I finished this one.

The third one there is actually the second guitar I made. I made it as a surprise for an uncle. It isn't perfect but it plays and sounds nice and he likes it so mission accomplished.

Thanks. I'm about 5'5", so I would say yes! It's a fairly small body.

Oh dear I think I need some new glasses or sleep. They are quite nice guitars but the pickups especially the lead ones need waxing as they whistle merrily when crancked up.
