John Hall from Rickenbacker says that since the early 60's Rickenbacker has always used 44 gauge wire, though he does say that they have changed around on the insulation type several times. So I would guess 44 PE and 44 HFV were both used. The 50's RIC pickups can be 43 and 42 gauge, and I would assume HFV myself, since FC Hall was in with Fender for awhile before he bought RIC and that is what Leo used a lot. I still have one spool of the 44 PE I got from RIC when they were selling some about 5 years ago. I sold the others to Belwar and a couple other people here...for too cheap probably...haha. I'll keep the one spool I have for something later unless someone really really wants it and offers me a good price I think.

Unusual to see single formvar, the stuff I got was way cheaper than that, if you have a need for it I'd grab it while its there, it goes a long way.
