Its a split design & humcanceling with more of a single coil tone

As you can see you can't get much wire on the coils when using the traditional form of magnets inline ,I built one with offset coils & I still had issues so I scraped it"UP here in the Canada we shoot things we don't understand"

Lots of Bass pickups, especially Jazz bass pickups, are made this way.
The Duckbucker actually has two full length coils, but with off set poles.It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Duncan does not make any split coil pickups.
